The Client Consultant will be responsible for handling daily inquiries and questions for defined contribution clients in Retirement Services. He/She will serve as an intermediary between the client and the various functional areas of Retirement Services to ensure the client’s needs are met in a manner consistent with our objectives, administrative documents and applicable laws.
In addition to working very closely with Relationship Managers on a daily basis, other examples include working with client financial advisors; internal business partners; the marketing department in order to develop a participant communication strategy; working with the Education and Enrollment team to conduct individual or group meetings with plan participants. The Client Consultant will also be providing support to our Participant Service Center on an as needed basis based on business needs.
The Client Consultant will be responsible for describing defined contribution and defined benefit products and services to clients and also managing the implementation of these product/service changes that impact the client.
He/She may also be expected to manage Financial Advisor/Agent relationships while coordinating client specific projects. The Client Consultant will be expected to meet with clients periodically and develop expertise on the plan documents and various administrative documents that define the client relationship.
College Degree in Business or Communications preferred. Equivalent work experience required.
High level of customer facing/ customer service work experience required (preferably within the financial services, banking, insurance industries). Other industry experience also considered.
Strong customer service skills are essential.
Solid experience in the defined contribution business and a working knowledge of the defined benefit segment is preferred.
Strong written and verbal skills are essential.
Proficiency as a user of integrated computer systems is required; experience with account processing, such as those for financial institutions, retirement plans, or insurance companies is preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel software is a plus.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate strong project management skills.
Recent college graduates with leadership skills and a track record of success will be considered.
NASD Series 6 and 63 registrations must be obtained within 120 days of employment in this position. State Insurance license(s) are also required.
